Description: Carapace longitudinally rectangular, pseudorostral spines long, multifid, with accessory spinules inserted at different planes; male cheliped propodus swollen; pereiopod 5 merus exceeding carapace length, not reaching distal end of pseudorostral spines, carpus short, thick, chela comprising 2 long subequal fingers, separated by wide hiatus.

Biological association: None.

Remarks: First distributional record from the Indian Exclusive Economic Zone.

Distribution: Indian Ocean: East coast of Africa, Madagascar, Comoros, Seychelles, Indonesia. Depth range: 395–1000 m.
